Question

I have a file with 2000+ glyphs (Including 1200+ autolayers) in 10 masters. Work in the glyph window are going quite slow. Especially deleting a contour. How do I speed up FontLab 7?

Solution

1. Turn off Live Preview in Preferences > Editing

2. Turn off orange curvature comb (View > Show > Curvature), node coordinates and grid.

3. Turn off Font > Live Update > Live Auto Layers

4. If you use linked glyph metrics, turn off Font > Live Update > Live Metrics.

Use Font > Update Glyphs when needed.
