Differences between Vexy Linestra and Vexy Lines?

Modified on Thu, 30 Jul at 11:00 PM

Q: I need help understanding the differences between Vexy Linestra and Vexy Lines. Which one should I purchase? I use Adobe Illustrator with Mac OS.

A:

Vexy Lines is a desktop app for Mac or Windows that turns photos and bitmaps into vector art. Supports multiple pattern styles per image and very detailed control of the patterns, including dotted lines, different intersection results, and different masking behavior at area edges.

Vexy Linestra is a plugin for Adobe Illustrator 2024+ that turns Illustrator objects into vector art. It supports a single pattern style per object, but you can mix, transform and mask using Illustrator tools.

Algorithmic pattern styles in Vexy Lines and Vexy Linestra are similar but not identical.

You can start with demo of Vexy Lines and if you feel it is too complicated for your tasks then try Linestra plugin and then make a decision.
